Anotace: The lecture will explore the sacred architecture of medieval Galicia as a fascinating intersection between the Byzantine East and the Romanesque West. The main focus will be on the monumental Cathedral of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God and the unique Church of St. Panteleimon, which is the best-preserved example of the distinctive Halych architectural school. The presentation will highlight not only the architectural forms but also the rich artistic decoration and the liturgical significance of these buildings for the representation of the principality at that time.
